Outreach International began its work because of the relentless compassion of Charles Neff and others within the Community of Christ. Thirty years later those values continue to shape us. We uphold the inherent worth and dignity of all people and stand in solidarity with those suffering the injustice of poverty. Working together with them, we create sustainable change and a future of hope. Outreach International is an international humanitarian organization that proudly serves people without regard to religion, race, nationality, ethnicity or gender.

Outreach International works in partnership with many different organizations including, Community of Christ, Plan International, American Humanics, Foods Resource Bank, Counterpart International, USAID and InterAction.

We Value People

We believe all people are created by God, and are of inherent worth. We act in ways that respect their dignity, culture, and uniqueness. We are committed to the worth of persons—their physical, spiritual, emotional and social wholeness.

We are Partners

We are partners with people living in poverty and with donors in this work. We involve the people in the planning and implementation of human development programs. We help people living in poverty to help themselves. We are a conduit through which people with charitable hearts can give responsibly, and invite collaboration with individuals, foundations, institutions and corporate bodies.

We are Stewards

The resources we use are not our own. We are stewards, using them for our donors on behalf of the people living in poverty around the world. We manage them in a responsible and honest way, and maintain the highest fiduciary standards in dealing with our donor constituencies, project communities, governments and the public at large.

We are Ethical

We believe in conducting our work with honesty and with professional ethics. We seek sustainable change, and maintain the commitments necessary for this to occur. We welcome honest and open opinion from others about our work.

We are Diverse

We value diversity in people and ideas. We encourage creativity, innovation, reflection and evaluation. We celebrate the tapestry of diversity of God’s creation reflected in all aspects of the human family.

We Value the Environment

Our work values the environment and recognizes that the welfare of all of creation is interdependent. The poor suffer disproportionately through the earth’s degradation. We will act in ways that respect the earth, and seek solutions that are environmentally sustainable.
