I Believe in Working Together
One of the most meaningful lessons I’ve encountered in my global travels comes from a single word in an African language. That word is “Ubuntu.” It means “I am because we are.” In a very authentic way, this is what Outreach International does through its focus on community-led development. Each member of the community brings something to the whole of the community’s efforts to enliven a new future where change becomes possible.
In my nine years of being a part of Outreach—as a board member and now as interim CEO—I’ve witnessed the transformative impact this organization has had on tens of thousands of people throughout the world who have been so severely impacted by the harsh realities of extreme poverty.
I Believe in the Power of Hope
A core principle that has been at the heart of Outreach’s efforts over the years is the belief that people possess the ability to make the changes needed to ultimately improve the quality of their own lives. When provided the skills, the access to resources, and the opportunity to work together, hope awakens, and progress takes hold.
As donors and partners in this mission, you are a source of this hope. Your support makes you an essential member of the team working together to abolish poverty and end the needless suffering of those who have been trapped in conditions that have robbed them of meaningful life.
