What’s the best part of working hard? Being finished with work! After a long stretch of imagining, planning and building a new school in Peitonville, Haiti, Outreach-affiliated teams there have reached the sweetest phase of progress: Savoring the results.
Outreach CEO and President Kevin Prine and Director of Field Operations Andrea Read joined our partners in Haiti recently to bring greetings from the rest of the Outreach ecosystem and to help celebrate the completion of construction on their new school. With six classrooms, a community hall, kitchen, restrooms and a water catchment and storage system, the new school will have everything students need to thrive, once the first bell rings next fall.
The entire community celebrated their fantastic work. With hundreds in attendance, the atmosphere was happy and hopeful. And community leaders and Haiti school administrators and teachers spoke of their plans. They’re on their way toward a well-earned and much deserved year of learning, growth, and thriving for so many children in the area.

The faculty and staff also look forward to receiving the supplies they need to begin the work of educating. And in the meantime, they’re readying themselves. They’re excited to set up the children in their care for a life where hard work pays off with success. This much-needed resource is a crucial piece of the puzzle that can bring prosperity to the entire region. Education not only leads to opportunity. It leads to a better understanding of the world. And, it leads to a more compassionate, empathetic view. And even better, it leads to adults of the future who are ready and equipped to use their expertise and work ethic to create better lives for themselves and everyone in their communities.
