Builders of Change: Outreach International Partners with Luna & Lark Apothecary

Since August, Outreach International has been partnering with Luna & Lark Apothecary, a women-led wellness brand that turns daily routines into beautiful, intentional rituals.

For Krissy Tripp, Luna & Lark’s founder and Outreach donor, the partnership is deeply personal. She witnessed Outreach’s impact firsthand during a site visit to Nepal and became a donor immediately. After learning about the menstrual health training program in Malawi, she was inspired to create a subscription box focused on menstrual health.

Partnership Rooted in Sustainable Change

The Red Thread Bracelet

In Malawi, the menstrual health training sessions give girls the education, tools, and confidence they need to manage menstruation safely while breaking the cultural stigma that still surrounds it there. During the trainings, an important activity during the trainings involves the girls passing red yarn to each other. As the yarn is passed, it forms a physical and metaphorical connection to each girl as they receive the yarn and share what they have learned during the session. They then cut the yarn into pieces, 5 red bracelets for each girl — a symbol of connection, community, and support.
