Position: RESEARCH and PROGRAM OPERATIONS INTERN or ASSISTANT

Summary: The Research & Program Operations Intern or Assistant will work with the Global Program Operations Team of Outreach International. Typically internships or assistantships coincide with the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. The Intern/Assistant will assist Global Program Operations team members in data analysis, literature reviews, and developing reports related to Outreach International’s field work

Reports to: Global Program Operations Team Lead
Location: Hybrid from Kansas City Metro
Time: Part-Time (15-20 hours per week)
Duration: Summer 2024 or Fall 2024
Compensation: Paid and/or Course Credit

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review, analyze and compile data gathered from the field
  • Summarize findings and data trends visually in reports
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Draft briefing papers and other reports as required
  • Respond to queries and requests for information from the Program Operations, Marketing and in-country international partner teams
  • Explore current trends and practices in the international development field
  • Attend Program Operations team meetings, as needed
  • Assist with other projects and tasks as needed
  • Account for hours worked with pertinent supervisor and advisors

Position Requirements:

  • Internships are typically for students seeking an undergraduate degree / Assistantships are typically for students seeking a graduate degree
  • College Student working toward a degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, International Studies, Public Health, Political Science, Social Work or any other related field
  • Interest and/or experience in international development, international relations and/or non-profit management
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Advanced experience in Google Drive and Microsoft Office programs, including proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel, including the use of pivot tables, formulas, and charts
  • Experience in data visualization software such as Canva, PowerBI, Tableau, or othersA flexible, self-starting nature
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively
