Child eating rice as part of Philippine feeding programWhat do you want to do with your life? Outreach supporter Sharon Gutierrez dreamt since childhood of running her own business while also helping those in need. After traveling abroad later in life, she found the motivation to turn her goals into plans, and her plans into action.

Combining her love for fashion with her business acumen and desire to support charitable causes, she founded Balance by Sharon Gutierrez, a company that offers everything from women’s apparel and accessories (staples and trends!), to personal stylist and shopper services (a big hit with brides looking for the perfect dresses for their bridesmaids), to pop-up shops around Orange County, California, all of which give Sharon an opportunity to catch her breath between surging onward to realize more of her entrepreneurial destiny. And Sharon’s success benefits the rest of humanity, since she donates 15% of all proceeds to Outreach.

“Creating long-lasting solutions to end poverty is a smart way to help resolve this ongoing problem,” she tells us.” Not only is ending poverty a goal, but also providing education, good nutrition, and clean water resources, [too].” We always get a little thrill when we hear how well our supporters communicate our talking-points.

Throughout the holiday season and beyond, Sharon helps her customers look good, and they help her support what we can all agree is the good-est of good causes: Outreach! We’re honored to have her as a part of the Outreach family, and flattered that she’s so committed to our shared mission. Great work, Sharon!
