The NorthWest School Administrator in Haiti looked up from his desk to see the parents of two of their students standing there.
“Sir,” the mother said with a grateful look, “you have no idea how much this feeding program is worth for children attending this school. But we parents – we know very well. Without this Nutrition Program, we could not keep our children at school.”
“Every night we get home at six o-clock or later; often empty-handed. Living from agriculture, the earth is not always kind. Yet when dry and lean seasons come, we are still responsible.”
The father added, “When crops fail and the cows are thin, there is little to feed our already malnourished children, and they cannot follow their lessons or learn properly. Before the feeding program, their lack of concentration resulted in failure on failure, the lack of progress, and the deterioration of learning or any hope of a brighter future for them. And try as we might in our present situation, we were powerless to help them.”

“But Coordinator, believe me – since our children participated in this nutrition program, they have studied well and passed all their exams. We, as their parents, want to give thanks to all the givers who have made this possible. May God bless them all abundantly!”
